Vanguard has expanded its offering in Germany after cross-listing its entire range of European-domiciled ETFs on Deutsche Börse. The suite of 23 ETFs includes 13 market-cap weighted equity funds, six fixed income funds and four smart beta equity funds. Sean Hagerty, head of Europe at Vanguard, commented, “We are very excited to be bringing our value proposition to Germany.”

Horizons ETFs has launched the Horizons Active Intl Developed Markets Equity ETF (HADM), an actively managed ETF providing exposure to international dividend-paying stocks. Steve Hawkins, president and co-CEO of Horizons ETFs, commented: “Now that Canadians are so aggressively investing outside of Canada using ETFs, we felt it was very important to give them access to an active ETF strategy, focusing on dividend stocks in the EAFE regions.”

Year-to-date (YTD) net inflows for ETFs globally reached a record $433 billion at the end of September 2017, according to ETFGI, an increase of 79% from the same period in 2016. The $49bn of net new assets gathered during September marked the forty-fourth consecutive month of inflows and brings total global ETF assets to $4.5 trillion.

Toronto-based AGF Investments has announced that its line-up of Canadian-domiciled QuantShares ETFs will be renamed AFGiQ ETFs to bring greater alignment across its brands. The name change will not affect the investment objectives, strategies, management or ticker symbols of the ETFs.

ETFGI, an ETF industry consultancy, has reported that fixed income ETFs listed in Asia Pacific (ex-Japan) have proved significantly more popular with investors than equity ETFs during September. ETFs that track bonds have gained $835 million during the month compared to outflows of $1.0 billion seen by equity ETFs listed in the region.

IndexIQ has reduced the management fee charged for its IQ Hedge Multi-Strategy Tracker ETF (NYSE Arca: QIA) from 0.75% to 0.53%. Including the acquired fund fees, the total expense ratio will now be 0.76%, effective 1 November 2017.

VanEck has launched two new ETFs on the London Stock Exchange, the VanEck Vectors Preferred US Equity UCITS ETF (LON: PRF) and the VanEck Vectors Natural Resources UCITS ETF (LON: HAP), offering access to US preferred stocks and global equities of firms involved in commodity production, respectively.

Franklin Templeton has added to its line-up of Europe-listed ETFs with the launch of the Franklin Templeton LibertyQ Emerging Markets UCITS ETF, tracking the performance of large- and mid-cap emerging markets stocks selected using a multi-factor approach. Vivek Kudva, head of EMEA and India at Franklin Templeton, said, “We think this new strategy can be utilised as a strategic and long-term allocation for those investors looking for an alternative way of accessing emerging markets as part of their diversified portfolio.”
