Exchange-traded fund provider WisdomTree Europe has added Cantor Fitzgerald and IMC as Authorised Participants (APs) to its UCITS ETF platform as part of a drive to increase its number of APs over the coming months.

WisdomTree welcomes IMC and Cantor Fitzgerald as Authorized Participants to ETF platform

With the addition of IMC and Cantor Fitzgerald, WisdomTree Europe now have 17 registered Authorized Participants for its UCITS ETF platform.

WisdomTree operates an open AP model and plans to continue increasing the number of Authorised Participants over the next several months. The addition of Cantor Fitzgerald and IMC, brings WisdomTree Europe’s total APs on its UCITS platform to 17.

Authorised Participants create and redeem ETF shares on investor demand directly with the ETF issuer.  In creating new shares of an ETF/ETP, APs provide the securities for the ETP and in return, the ETF issuer gives out shares of the ETP, these are then sold on the open market. Shares are redeemed when the AP delivers a basket of ETF shares in return for all the underlying securities, which are sold on the open market.

Zach Hascoe, Director of Capital Markets at WisdomTree Europe, said: “We are pleased to welcome two very well respected trading firms to the WisdomTree UCITS ETF platform. Cantor Fitzgerald and IMC join a growing list of APs that will play an important part in expanding and facilitating liquidity to clients investing in WisdomTree UCITS ETFs.

“Expanding our bench of APs demonstrates the commitment that WisdomTree has to the European marketplace,” said Hascoe. “Further, it underlines the solid capital markets infrastructure that has been developed to support the WisdomTree UCITS ETFs for a global client base which increasingly seeks to invest in the UCITS structure.”
