Credit rating agency Moody’s Investors Service has announced that MSCI’s decision to include China A-Shares into its MSCI Emerging Markets Index is positive for inflows into Chinese equity markets.

Amundi has cross-listed three equity and two fixed income ETFs on LSE. The equity ETFs are the Amundi MSCI North America UCITS ETF (NRAM), the Amundi MSCI World UCITS ETF (MWRD) and Amundi FTSE EPRA NAREIT Global UCITS ETF (EPRA), while the fixed income ETFs are the Amundi Index JP Morgan GBI Global Govies UCITS ETF (GGOV) and Amundi Index Barclays Global AGG 500M UCITS ETF (GGAG).

European digital investment manager Scalable Capital has signed a €30 million funding round which sees BlackRock, the asset manager behind the iShares range of ETFs, become a significant minority stake owner in the firm.

S&P Dow Jones Indices, in partnership with Sao Paulo-headquartered financial market infrastructure company B3, has launched the S&P/BOVESPA Non-State Owned Enterprises Index, representing the most liquid stocks trading on the Brazilian Stock Exchange that are not controlled, directly or indirectly, by public entities, municipalities or states of the Federal District.

ERI Scientific Beta has announced the launch of a new series of indices that target narrow exposure to a range of single factors. The narrow high factor exposure index family consists of 90 separate indices, each covering one of 15 regions and one of six factors.

The Australian ETF industry welcomed two new funds during May, the VanEck Vectors Australian Corporate Bond Plus ETF (ASX: PLUS) and the UBS IQ Cash ETF (ASX: MONY), according to BetaShares’ monthly Australian ETF review. The industry recorded another strong month of growth, with total industry AUM at the end of May hitting a new high of $29.0 billion. Total industry AUM growth during the month was 2.6% or $730m.

MSCI is due to announce its decision on the inclusion of China mainland companies in its MSCI Emerging Market benchmark at 8.30pm GMT on 20 June 2017. As opposed to the past three years where market access obstacles and governance issues were the main reasons to decline A-shares application, chances for an inclusion this year are much higher and would have a significant impact on the asset management industry around the world.

Horizons ETFs Management has announced the closure of the Horizons Managed Multi-Asset Momentum ETF (HMA) effective at the close of business on 18 August 2017. Effective immediately, no further direct subscriptions for units of the ETF will be accepted.

VanEck has announced the consolidation of its UCITS platforms, consisting of passively managed ETFs and actively managed mutual funds in Europe, into a newly established legal entity in Ireland, the VanEck ICAV. Torsten Hunke, managing director of VanEck Europe, said: “Having both our active funds and ETFs domiciled in one country is an important step in growing our UCITS business in Europe and beyond. This consolidation will maximize efficiency, enhance our resources, and support our future business expansion initiatives.”
