The Desjardins Emerging Markets Multifactor-Controlled Volatility ETF (DFE CN), launched on the Toronto Stock Exchange, complements the firm’s existing suite of three multifactor funds which includes ETFs providing exposure to US, Canadian, and developed international equities. Nicolas Richard, chief operating officer at Desjardins, said, “We are now in a position to offer our unique and innovative construction strategy for all of the major markets of the world.”

Lyxor has cross-listed the Lyxor SG Japan Quality Income UCITS ETF (SGQJ SW) on SIX Swiss Exchange. The fund was launched in September this year and provides access to high-quality Japanese companies that pay high dividends.

Frankfurt-based index provider Solactive has launched a family of five European single factor equity indices, which will tracks firms with strong value, quality, low beta, price momentum, and earnings momentum characteristics. The smart beta indices have been exclusively licensed to Invesco PowerShares to underlie a suite of ETFs launched on Deutsche Börse earlier this week.

Asset management titan Vanguard has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch six new actively managed smart beta ETFs providing exposure to US equities. The firm’s foray into the active ETF space will initially include momentum, liquidity, quality, value and low volatility single factor ETFs as well as a multi-factor fund.

USCF has announced it has registered two new ETFs that aim to provide investors with the long-term return characteristics of a private equity allocation. John Love, president and CEO of USCF, commented: “The new USCF ETFs are intended to make it easy for investors to access private equity-like long-term profiles at a lower price point that traditional private equity investments.”

Invesco PowerShares has launched five European equity ETFs, each offering focused exposure to a single factor – value, quality, low beta, price momentum, and earnings momentum. Chris Mellor, equity product specialist at Invesco PowerShares, commented: “We expect these new ETFs to attract a variety of investors who want to pursue factors from either a tactical or a strategic perspective.”

Horizons ETFs Management US has entered into a strategic partnership with Cadence Capital Management to develop a series of actively managed ETFs due to launch early in 2018. The first fund will be a US equity strategy that focuses on high-quality companies from the Russell 1000 Index with above average dividend yields.
