Invesco has launched the Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight Communication Services ETF (EWCO US) on NYSE Arca. The fund provides equally weighted exposure to the constituents of the Communications Services sector of the S&P 500 Index.

BetaShares has launched the BetaShares Global Quality Leaders ETF (QLTY AU) on Australian Securities Exchange (ASX). The iStoxx MUTB-linked fund provides exposure to a diversified portfolio of high quality companies listed in developed markets globally, excluding Australia, and is the provider’s fiftieth ASX-traded fund.

State Street Global Advisors has introduced a euro-hedged share class for its SPDR S&P 500 ETF on Deutsche Borse and Borsa Italiana. With a total expense ratio of just 0.12%, the SPDR S&P 500 EUR Hdg UCITS ETF becomes the lowest cost euro-hedged S&P 500 ETF in Europe. Antoine Lesne, head of SPDR ETF Research & Strategy EMEA at State Street, suggests that, henceforth, “European investors may be better off hedging their S&P 500 exposure using a EUR hedged index.”

The inclusion of China’s A-shares in global and emerging market indices is positive for Chinese equity markets and passive funds such as ETFs, according to a report from Moody’s, but uncertainty remains around the strength and consistency of China’s corporate governance.

DWS has launched the Xtrackers MSCI Latin America Pacific Alliance ETF (PACA US) on NYSE Arca. The fund tracks the MSCI Latin America Pacific Alliance Capped Index which covers equities from firms within the Pacific Alliance bloc of countries – Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru.

Horizons ETFs Canada has launched the Horizons Industry 4.0 Index ETF (FOUR US) on Toronto Stock Exchange. The ETF tracks companies across five innovative technology sectors: advanced robotics, augmented reality & 3D printing, cloud & big data, cyber security and the ‘internet of things’.

Holdings in gold-backed ETFs rose by 16.5 tonnes globally in October, equivalent to approximately $1.0bn in inflows, according to the World Gold Council, as investors sought safe-haven assets amid a spike in equity market volatility.

Lyxor has unveiled a new China ETF – the Lyxor MSCI China UCITS ETF (LCCN LN) – on the London Stock Exchange. The fund tracks the MSCI China Index, capturing the equity performance of large and mid-cap listed Chinese companies across multiple share classes including A shares. The fund comes with a TER of 0.30%, half the price of rival offerings. “We’ve been ruthless on costs recently and we knew we needed to be competitive in this space,” said Adam Laird, Head of ETF Strategy, Northern Europe, at Lyxor ETF.

Amundi has launched three ETFs providing ESG-friendly exposure to global, US, and European equity markets. The funds, which have been listed on the Euronext Paris and Xetra exchanges, come with total expense ratios (TERs) of just 0.18%. The ETFs are linked to SRI indices from MSCI which harness data from index provider’s ESG Research team to screen the investment universes of some of its best known broad market benchmarks.

Invesco has cross-listed the Invesco Goldman Sachs Equity Factor Index Emerging Markets UCITS ETF on Deutsche Börse and Borsa Italiana. The fund, which debuted on London Stock Exchange in mid-September, is the third product in the firm’s range of multi-factor ETFs linked to smart beta indices developed by investment banking titan Goldman Sachs.
