Horizons cuts fees on three thematic technology ETFs

Horizons ETFs Canada has reduced the management fee on ETFs providing exposure to blockchain technology, industry 4.0, and robotics and automation. Think ETFs reorganized under VanEck Vectors brand

VanEck has completed the integration of Think ETFs into its product portfolio. Effective immediately, the 14 funds acquired in January 2018 through the purchase of Dutch issuer Think ETFs have been renamed under the VanEck Vectors brand. Martijn Rozemuller, European Head of VanEck, commented, “We are delighted to reinforce the VanEck brand in the UK and Europe…Our long-term objective is to be one of the top ten providers of ETFs in Europe.”


Vanguard Canada trims fee on global equity ETF

Vanguard has trimmed the management fee on its Toronto-listed Vanguard FTSE Global All Cap ex Canada Index ETF (VXC CN) from 0.25% to 0.20%. Kathy Bock, Head of Vanguard Investments Canada, commented, “Vanguard has a long history of lowering investing costs in the areas in which we operate and we are pleased to reduce the fees in one of our largest equity ETFs.”

DWS’s Xtrackers surpasses €100 billion in assets under management

Xtrackers, the ETF and ETP business of DWS, has broken through the €100 billion barrier, reporting global assets under management of €104.9 billion as of the end of Q3 2019. Xtrackers rolled out its first ETFs 12 years ago when it was then a division of German banking giant Deutsche Bank. In Europe, it is best known for funds such as the $6.4bn Xtrackers Euro Stoxx 50 UCITS ETF. Manooj Mistry, DWS’s Global Head of Index Investing, commented, “Since launching our first ETFs in 2007 we have been committed to offering quality tracking products to investors across the globe.”

BlackRock appears set to be the first European ETF issuer to offer an ESG-screened bond fund targetting the USD corporate high-yield sector. The iShares USD High Yield Corp Bond ESG UCITS ETF is scheduled to make its debut next week on Euronext Amsterdam (DHYE NA) and London Stock Exchange (DHYA LN).

BlackRock launches two China bond ETFs in Hong Kong

Chinese asset manager Yinhua Fund Management has launched a new ETF providing exposure to innovative China A-share companies operating in certain technology-related industries. The Yinhua CSI Research Innovation 100 ETF (159987 CH) has listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) and comes with a management fee of 0.30%.


Global X rolls out trio of thematic growth ETFs

Global X has expanded its suite of thematic growth products with the launch of three new ETFs on Nasdaq. Two of the funds provide access to the themes of video games/esports and cybersecurity, while a third offers diversified exposure across several themes using an ETF-of-ETFs format.
