Invesco’s US Treasury Bond 7-10 year ETF swells to over $1bn AUM

Invesco has seen more than $1 billion flow into its newly launched Invesco US Treasury Bond 7-10 year UCITS ETF (TREX LN), making it one of the issuer’s fastest-growing ETFs ever and one of the most successful ETF debuts in Europe. The ETF was launched on 11 January and has ongoing charges of just 0.06%. Paul Syms, Head of EMEA ETF Fixed Income Product Management at Invesco, said, “Given that our 7-10 year US Treasuries ETF launched with just $5 million in seed capital, we think this showcases the profound liquidity of such vehicles and the simplified, highly efficient means they offer institutional clients to access fixed income exposure.”


WisdomTree launches Europe’s first US Treasury FRN ETF

WisdomTree launches smart beta US multifactor ETF

WisdomTree has launched the WisdomTree USD Floating Rate Treasury Bond UCITS ETF – the first ETF in Europe to provide targeted exposure to Floating Rate Notes (FRNs) issued by the US government. Christopher Gannatti, WisdomTree Head of Research, commented, “For investors who are looking for another government bond instrument to replace some of the low yield exposures present in many developed market treasuries, US Treasury FRNs could provide a yield enhancement, especially given the flatness of the US yield curve.”


Invesco unveils Europe’s lowest cost gilts ETFs

Invesco has launched two new ETFs – the Invesco UK Gilt 1-5 Year UCITS ETF (GLT5 LN) and the Invesco UK Gilts UCITS ETF (GLTP LN) – offering the lowest-cost exposure to UK government bonds, or gilts, of any competing product in Europe. Paul Syms, Head of EMEA ETF Fixed Income Product Management at Invesco, said, “For investors who want to take some risk off the table, or simply diversify their portfolios, UK government bonds may offer an attractive solution.”


UniCredit partners with Axiom on first global CoCo bond ETF

UniCredit and Axiom Alternative Investments have unveiled the UC AXI Global CoCo Bonds UCITS ETF (CCNV GY) – the first ETF to provide exposure to the global contingent convertible (CoCo) bond market – on Deutsche Börse Xetra. Laurent Dupeyron, Managing Director, UniCredit, commented, “Today’s announcement is a major development for our institutional investor base who can now gain market-weighted exposure to the CoCo universe in an easy and cost-effective manner while still benefiting from a UCITS structure.”


Invesco celebrates 20th anniversary of QQQ

Invesco has celebrated the twentieth anniversary of the launch of the Invesco QQQ, its giant Nasdaq 100 ETF. Introduced on 10 March 1999, QQQ has become the sixth largest ETF globally, with $66 billion in assets under management. “Invesco is proud of the 20 years of innovation that have been marshaled through the Invesco QQQ and the access it has provided investors to pioneering companies that impact each of us daily,” said Dan Draper, Managing Director, Global Head of Invesco ETFs.


Invesco launches Europe’s cheapest MDAX ETF

STOXX adjusts capping rule for DAX indices

Invesco has launched the Invesco MDAX UCITS ETF (DEAM GY) on Deutsche Börse’s Xetra and Frankfurt exchanges. The fund, which comes with a total expense ratio (TER) of 0.19%, becomes the cheapest ETF in Europe to offer exposure to Germany’s main mid-cap equity index – the MDAX.

Invesco has launched the Invesco MSCI Europe ESG Leaders Catholic Principles UCITS ETF on Deutsche Börse Xetra and Borsa Italiana. The fund provides exposure to a portfolio of European equities that are aligned with general ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance) guidelines as well as Catholic principles relating to stem cells, adult entertainment, conventional weapons, abortion and contraceptives, human rights, and animal welfare.


Invesco launches cheapest US Treasury bond ETFs in Europe

Invesco has launched four US Treasury bond ETFs on London Stock Exchange with total expense ratios of just 0.06% – the lowest price tag among similar ETFs listed in Europe. The funds provide broad access to Treasury bonds as well as targeted exposure to different segments of the yield curve. Paul Syms, Head of EMEA ETF Fixed Income Product Management at Invesco, said, “These highly rated bonds are often valued for their ‘safe haven’ status and could be increasingly attractive for any investor who is concerned about recession or market volatility.”


Invesco to close 19 ETFs

Another SPAC ETF to close

Invesco has announced the scheduled closure of 19 ETFs. The funds, which collectively house approximately $300m in AUM, consist primarily of equity strategies offering niche exposures that have failed to garner significant interest from investors. The ETFs will have their last day of trading on 20 February 2019.


European ETF issuers partner with Bloomberg on ‘consolidated tape’

European ETF issuers launch Bloomberg feed for consolidated aggregate trading data

Leading ETF issuers in Europe have joined forces with financial data giant Bloomberg to provide investors with a ‘consolidated tape’ of aggregate ETF trading data. The Bloomberg ETF aggregate volume feed, which incorporates OTC trades, aims to increase transparency around European ETF trading. Jim Goldie, EMEA Head of ETF Capital Markets at Invesco, said, “The industry has come together for the benefit of all stakeholders to showcase the liquidity, transparency and strengths of the ETF market, and we expect this service to further catalyse the growth of the sector.”
