Shenzhen-based asset manager Bosera Fund Management has launched a new ETF in China providing exposure to mid- and small-cap A-share equities. The Bosera CSI 500 ETF (159968 CH) has listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange and comes with a management fee of 0.15%, making it the lowest cost CSI 500 ETF on the market.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced Thursday 26 September, its final version of rule 6c-11 or the “ETF rule”. The long-awaited regulation may be a significant step in the evolution of the ETF industry.

VanEck Australia has launched a new ETF – the VanEck Vectors Australian Subordinated Debt ETF (SUBD AU) – on the Australian Securities Exchange. The fund is linked to an index from IHS Markit that provides exposure to investment grade subordinated bonds denominated in Australian dollars.

European white-label ETF platform HANetf has expanded its sales footprint by registering its five ETFs for distribution in Finland and the Netherlands. Hector McNeil, CEO and co-Founder of HANetf, commented, “We are continuing to register the ETFs on our white-label platform for distribution in key European markets based on increasing client demand.”

US-listed fixed income ETFs have recorded over $128 billion net inflows year-to-date, outpacing the previous full-year record of $127.1bn set in 2017. According to State Street Global Advisors, flows have been fuelled by two major trends: downside risk mitigation and yield at any price.

State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) has cross-listed the SPDR Gold MiniShares (GLDMSM JP) on Tokyo Stock Exchange. The fund, which was first launched on NYSE Arca in June 2018, provides physically-backed exposure to gold. Rory Tobin, Head of the Global SPDR ETF Business at SSGA, commented, “The SPDR Gold MiniShares ETF offers a cost-effective, efficient, and highly liquid solution for investors seeking to access the risk-adjusted returns that physically-backed gold products can bring to a portfolio.”

Amundi has launched a new ETF in Europe enabling investors to capitalize on rising inflation expectations in the US. The Amundi Index Breakeven Inflation USD 10Y UCITS ETF targets the spread between conventional fixed-rate Treasury bond yields and those of inflation-linked bonds, thus offering a play on inflation expectations without exposing the investor to changing interest rates. It has listed on Euronext Paris in US dollars (BINFU FP) and on Euronext Amsterdam in euros (BINFU NA).
