Taipei-based, privately owned investment manager Paradigm Asset Management has launched the Paradigm Dow Jones Copper ER Futures ETF (00763U TT) on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE), providing investors with exposure to fluctuations in the price of copper through futures contracts.
The fund tracks the Dow Jones Commodity Copper Index which is compiled and maintained by S&P Dow Jones Indices. The index consists of the single-month copper futures contracts traded in the COMEX Division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, rolled on a monthly basis.
The fund comes with an expense ratio of 1.15%, and its launch brings the number of ETFs listed on TWSE to 111.
While the fund is the first ETF in Taiwan to offer exposure to copper, investors can obtain access to several other commodities through the country’s ETF market. Paradigm also offers the Paradigm S&P GSCI Soybeans ER Futures ETF (00693U TT), while the remaining commodity-based exposures – gold, silver, and crude oil – are provided by Yuanta Securities Investment Trust Company.
