iShares S&P Global Timber & Forestry ETF (WOOD US) – Portfolio Construction Methodology

The underlying S&P Global Timber & Forestry Index delivers global equity exposure to companies deriving material revenue from timberland ownership/management, forest products, paper and packaging, and related upstream forestry supply chains, including timber REITs. Eligible developed and emerging market listings must meet free-float and liquidity screens (e.g., minimum float-adjusted market cap and sustained trading activity) and are ranked by a Timber & Forestry Revenue Score that aggregates the share of revenue tied to qualifying activities; names with immaterial exposure are excluded. The index applies float-adjusted market-cap weighting modified by exposure, with a single-stock cap of 10% to mitigate concentration. Country and sector diversification are maintained implicitly via selection/weight caps rather than explicit bands. The index reconstitutes and reweights on a semi-annual schedule, with share updates applied on the standard S&P quarterly share-update cycle.
