Valour Digital Securities has introduced a new ETP in Europe delivering directly backed exposure to a basket of leading crypto assets.
The Valour STOXX Bitcoin Suisse Digital Asset Blue Chip ETP (BCIX GY) has been listed on Deutsche Börse in euros.
It comes with an expense ratio of 1.90%.
The ETP mirrors the STOXX Digital Asset Blue Chip X Index, focusing on top-tier crypto assets distinguished for their quality, robustness, and financial strength.
Harnessing Bitcoin Suisse’s Global Crypto Taxonomy (GCT), the index seeks to include digital assets across five key sectors: Cryptocurrencies, Smart Contract Platforms, Decentralized Finance (DeFi), Utility, and Culture.
Only crypto tokens that are eligible on Xetra will be considered, guaranteeing a transparent and replicable investment vehicle that captures the essence of the crypto market’s diversity.
Constituents are weighted by market capitalization subject to an individual cap of 30% to promote diversification. Rebalancing occurs each quarter.
The index is currently composed of the following nine crypto assets: Bitcoin (30%), Ethereum (30%), Ripple (17%), Cardano (7%), Tron (5%), Polygon (4%), ChainLink (4%), Cosmos (2%), and Aave (1%).
The Valour STOXX Bitcoin Suisse Digital Asset Blue Chip ETP offers institutional investors easy access to these mainstream digital assets through a liquid, regulated vehicle without the technical challenges of setting up private keys or crypto wallets.
It uses full direct, ‘physical’ replication with each ETP share being 100% collateralized by a corresponding investment in the underlying crypto tokens which are stored using an institutional-grade cold-storage custody solution.
All crypto ETPs on Deutsche Börse are centrally cleared by Eurex Clearing, Deutsche Börse Group’s central counterparty. Through central clearing, institutional investors in particular benefit from significantly reduced risks in the settlement of transactions.
Valour has had a busy start to the year in terms of new product launches. Last month, the firm unveiled the Valour Internet Computer Physical Staking ETP (1VIC GY), the world’s first crypto ETP providing directly backed exposure to ICP, the native token underpinning the Internet Computer initiative.
