Themes Uranium & Nuclear ETF (URAN US) – Portfolio Construction Methodology
The underlying BITA Global Uranium and Nuclear Select NTR Index targets global companies deriving significant revenues from uranium and nuclear value chains, from upstream mining and processing to nuclear equipment, infrastructure, and power generation. Starting from a global equity universe, BITA applies country eligibility screens, excludes higher-risk markets, and then uses revenue-based thematic exposure scores to identify firms with ≥30% uranium or nuclear revenue or that rank among the top five revenue leaders in each of the uranium and nuclear segments. Securities must have market cap ≥USD 100 million and 3-month ADTV ≥USD 100,000; all eligible names become constituents. Free-float market-cap Z-scores are winsorized and transformed, then multiplied by thematic exposure to set raw weights, which are iteratively capped by name, liquidity and emerging-market share (issuer ≤10%, >4.5% names in aggregate ≤45%, emerging markets ≤40%). The index is reconstituted and rebalanced quarterly in March, June, September and December.
