Nineteen new ETFs or ETF share classes were listed on the London Stock Exchange in September, bringing the total number of new listings (including ETPs) to 270 year-to-date. Issuers launching new ETFs on LSE included Invesco, BlackRock, Lyxor, and debutant Tabula Investment Management.

Lyxor has announced the launch of the Lyxor Robotics & AI UCITS ETF on LSE, Xetra and Borsa Italiana, offering exposure to firms that stand to benefit from the growth of the robotics, automation and artificial intelligence (AI) industries. It is based on the work of futurist Martin Ford. BlackRock adds two new synthetic equity ETFs in Europe

BlackRock has launched a pair of ETFs – unconnected to each other – providing exposure to companies globally that are closely aligned with the themes of workplace inclusion & diversity and digital security. The funds have been listed on the London Stock Exchange and Xetra, and track indices provided by Thomson Reuters and Stoxx. Rob Powell, Lead Strategist, iShares Thematic Investing, commented: “As more and more investors are getting to know ETFs beyond the broad equity market exposures, our focus is on expanding this choice of tools to build future-smart portfolios.”

Seven issuers list ETFs on London Stock Exchange in July

Seven issuers were active on London Stock Exchange in July, listing nineteen new ETFs or share classes, bringing the total number of new listings, including exchange-traded products, to 243 year-to-date. There are now 1,097 ETFs and 487 other ETPs listed on the exchange, represented by more than 2,000 different trading lines across various currency, currency-hedged, distributing and accumulating share classes.

Lyxor launches S&P 500 Banks ETF

Lyxor has unveiled a new ETF providing exposure to US large-cap banking stocks and diversified financials. Launched on the LSE and Borsa Italiana, the Lyxor S&P 500 Banks UCITS ETF takes its constituents from the bellwether S&P 500 index of blue-chip US companies. Commenting on the launch, Adam Laird, Head of ETF Strategy, Northern Europe, at Lyxor ETF, said: “There’s a lot of opportunity in American banks. Rising rates give the potential for higher margins – and the sector could get a shot in the arm by the US administration’s planned deregulation campaign.”
