Investor sentiment in emerging markets continued to improve in January, supported by a dovish Fed and hopes for the United States and China to reach a trade deal by March when higher US tariffs on Chinese goods are poised to set in.

BlackRock adds two new synthetic equity ETFs in Europe

BlackRock has launched a new ETF in Europe providing exposure to emerging market stocks with strong value characteristics. The iShares Edge MSCI EM Value Factor UCITS ETF has been listed on the London Stock Exchange (EMVL LN) and Xetra (5MVL GY) and is linked to the MSCI EM Select Value Factor Focus Index. The index screens the parent MSCI EM universe for stocks with higher exposure to the value style factor.

Deutsche launches Latin America ex-Brazil ETF in US

DWS has launched the Xtrackers MSCI Latin America Pacific Alliance ETF (PACA US) on NYSE Arca. The fund tracks the MSCI Latin America Pacific Alliance Capped Index which covers equities from firms within the Pacific Alliance bloc of countries – Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru.

BlackRock lists MSCI Brazil ETF on Xetra

BlackRock has launched the iShares MSCI Brazil UCITS ETF (4BRZ GY) on Xetra. The fund tracks the MSCI Brazil Index, providing exposure to the large- and mid-cap equity markets of Brazil. Interestingly, BlackRock already offers two ETFs, domiciled in Ireland, which track the same index.

Mirae Asset Global Investments has launched the Mirae Asset Renda Fixa Pré Fundo de Índice (FIXA11 BZ) on B3, Brazil’s main stock exchange located in Sao Paulo. The fund, which provides exposure to Brazil’s inter-bank interest rate, becomes the first fixed income ETF to list in the country.
