Assets invested in smart beta equity ETFs/ETPs listed globally reached a new record of $607 billion at the end of July 2017, according to data from ETF industry consultant ETFGI. Record levels of assets were also reached at the end of the month for equity smart beta ETFs/ETPs listed in the United States at $538.6bn, in Europe at $44.8bn, in Canada at $14.8bn and in Asia Pacific (ex-Japan) at $5.6bn.

Assets invested in ETFs/ETPs listed in Asia Pacific excluding Japan have reached a new record high of $151 billion at the end of July 2017, surpassing the prior record of $145bn set at the end of June 2017, according to data from London-based ETF industry consultant ETFGI.

ETFs/ETPs listed in Japan have gathered $4.3 billion in net inflows during July, bringing total assets invested in Japan-listed ETFs/ETPs to a new record high of $225bn, according to ETF industry consultant ETFGI.

Net inflows into US-listed exchange-traded funds and exchange-traded products totalled $28.0bn in July, bringing year-to-date flows to $275.4bn, more than double the net inflows of $112.2bn accumulated at this point last year and just shy of the $278.7bn gathered in all of 2016. According to data from ETF industry consultant ETFGI, July’s net inflows marked the 17th consecutive month of positive net new assets for the region.

Exchange-traded funds and exchange-traded products listed globally gathered $43.5 billion in net new assets during July, bringing year-to-date (YTD) flows to $391.3bn and passing the $390.4bn recorded during all of last year, according to ETF industry consultant ETFGI. The strong demand for ETFs/ETPs during July marked the 41st consecutive month of positive net inflows for the industry.

Exchange-traded funds and exchange-traded products listed in Europe gathered $10.6 billion of net inflows during June 2017, bringing total assets under management within the European ETF/ETP industry to $686bn, according to ETF industry consultant ETFGI. The strong net gatherings marked the 34th consecutive month of positive net inflows for the region.

Total assets under management in US-listed exchange-traded funds and exchange-traded products reached $2.973 trillion at the end of the first half of 2017, according to London-based ETF industry consultant ETFGI. ETFs/ETPs listed in the US gathered a record $46.6 billion net inflows in June, marking the 16th consecutive month of positive net new asset flows for the region.

Exchange-traded funds and exchange-traded products listed globally gathered record net inflows of $63.6bn in June and $347.7bn over the first half of this year, according to research by ETF industry consultant ETFGI. This marks a significant increase compared to the net inflows of $123.5bn recorded over the first six months of 2016.

ETFGI has reported that assets invested in ETFs and ETPs listed in Europe have reached a new record high of $682 billion at the end of May 2017, up 3.7% from the $658bn seen at the end of the previous month. The report goes on to say that assets invested in Europe-listed ETFs/ETPs have increased by 19% from $572bn year-to-date.
