EGA launches EM ex China ETF

Emerging Global Advisors (EGA), a specialist US-based provider of emerging markets exchange-traded funds, has launched the EGShares EM Core ex-China ETF (XCEM) on the NYSE Arca. The ETF provides broad exposure to emerging market equities excluding China and Hong Kong. “We launched XCEM to deliver core emerging market exposure independently of China, giving investors an option to refine their portfolios in light of other China holdings or market developments,” said EGA President and Founder Robert C. Holderith.

Emerging Global Advisors (EGA), a New York-based emerging markets specialist, has rolled out a self-indexed exchange-traded fund offering investors access to a select group of developed market companies with noteworthy exposure to emerging markets. Listed on the NYSE Arca, the EGShares Blue Chip ETF (BCHP) is linked to the EGAI Developed Markets Blue Chip EM Access Index, an equally-weighted 30 stock index designed to capture the market performance of quality developed market companies that have measurable, meaningful and growing revenue from emerging markets.

S&P Dow Jones unveils emerging markets domestic demand index

S&P Dow Jones Indices has unveiled a new index designed to measure the performance of companies that capture a major engine of growth within the emerging markets – domestic demand – by emphasizing the consumer staples, consumer discretionary, telecommunication services, healthcare, and utilities sectors. Vinit Srivastava, Senior Director at S&P Dow Jones Indices, said: “The S&P Emerging Markets Domestic Demand Index consists of companies whose performance is tied to the domestic demand in their respective market.”

Emerging Global Advisors (EGA), the asset manager to the EGShares exchange-traded fund offering, and TCW Group, a global asset management firm, have teamed up to launch three emerging market fixed income ETFs on the NYSE Arca. The ETFs are the industry’s first to provide duration-defined exposure to USD-denominated investment grade emerging market sovereign and corporate bonds. All three funds are advised by EGA, sub-advised by TCW and track custom indices created and monitored by JP Morgan.

Emerging Global Advisors (EGA), the asset manager to the EGShares exchange-traded fund line-up, has completed the transition of the EGShares Beyond BRICs ETF (BBRC) to track the FTSE Beyond BRICs Index, an index comprising 75% emerging market stocks and 25% frontier market stocks. Launched in August 2012, the fund previously tracked the Indxx Beyond BRICs Index, an index which only includes emerging market stocks.

WisdomTree, a US-based provider of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), has announced the launch of the WisdomTree Emerging Markets Consumer Growth ETF (EMCG). The fund, which has been listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market, is linked to the WisdomTree Emerging Markets Consumer Growth Index, a fundamentally weighted index that consists of stocks that best exemplify growth trends in emerging market consumers and their local economies.

MSCI has unveiled the MSCI EM Beyond BRIC Index. The index is composed of 17 emerging market countries and excludes the so-called BRIC countries which currently represent over 40% of the parent MSCI Emerging Markets Index. Deborah Yang, Head of the MSCI Index Business in EMEA & India, said: “We have launched the MSCI EM Beyond BRIC Index in response to client demand and believe it offers a new way to track and evaluate the emerging markets opportunity set for those wishing to invest in countries outside the BRIC region.”

Emerging Global Advisors, the asset manager to the EGShares suite of emerging markets-focused exchange-traded funds (ETFs), has revealed that it will close 12 NYSE Arca-listed funds. The funds to close are based on Dow Jones Emerging Markets Sector Titans Indices and represent approximately 4% of the firm’s assets under management.
