State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) has cross-listed 29 SPDR ETFs, representing over $33.5 billion in assets under management, on the Mexican stock exchange, Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV).

The new listings comprise funds providing exposure to equities, fixed income, and alternative investments.

Within equities, the funds target large-, mid-, and small-caps, as well as industry-specific and thematic strategies within the US stock market. There are also multi-factor ETFs covering US, international, Japanese, and emerging market equities.

On the fixed income side, the ETFs provide access to different maturity segments of the Treasury yield curve as well as exposure to Treasury inflation-protected securities (TIPS). Investors targeting corporate bonds can choose from portfolios of US dollar-denominated corporate debt with long or short maturities or offering floating rate exposure. The listings also include an aggregate bond fund as well as a local currency denominated emerging markets ETF.

The alternative ETFs provide exposure to property through real estate investment trusts (REITs). The three funds target REITs listed in the US, internationally (ex-US), or globally.

All 29 of the ETFs are listed on the special international section of BMV, the Sistema Internacional de Cotizaciones (SIC). SIC makes it possible for certain institutional investors in the country to trade foreign securities. Securities listed on SIC are not technically publicly offered in Mexico.

“We are always looking for opportunities to improve access to markets for investors around the globe, and these additional listings provide greater choice to our institutional clients in the region,” said Kathryn Sweeney, Head of SPDR Americas Institutional Sales. “Having cross-listed the first SPDR ETFs on the BMV in 2006, the Mexican market has remained a strategic priority for over a decade, and we continue to strive to provide clients with the products and exposures that they have been asking for in this market.”

“We are excited to be substantially expanding the number of SPDR ETFs cross-listed in Mexico,” added Heinz Volquarts, Head of SPDR ETF Business Development in Mexico and Latin America. “Our team in Mexico and Latin America has grown significantly in recent years as ETF adoption by institutional investors has flourished. With the addition of these 29 cross-listed SPDR ETFs, investors seeking peso-denominated SPDRs will have a much broader offering available to achieve their investment objectives.”
