State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the investment manager behind the SPDR exchange-traded funds brand, has announced that it has registered 41 ETFs in Spain.
Spanish investors can now access a range of UCITS-compliant equity and fixed income SPDR ETFs, including a number of provider’s flagship funds.
These include the SPDR S&P US Dividend Aristocrats UCITS ETF, which offers access to a portfolio of well-established dividend-paying companies in the US, the SPDR MSCI EMU UCITS ETF, which tracks large and mid-sized companies from developed Eurozone countries, and the SPDR S&P 500 UCITS ETF, which is linked to the eponymous blue chip S&P 500 index.
Olivier Paquier, head of SPDR ETFs for France and Spain at SSgA, commented: “We are seeing increasing demand from Spanish investors for ETFs and we believe the ETF industry in Spain offers exciting growth potential.”
He added: “Through these newly available SPDR ETFs, Spanish investors will benefit from exposure to an extensive range of asset classes, in a simple, transparent and cost-effective way.”
The 41 SPDR ETFs available to investors in Spain are physically replicated, multi-registered and cross-listed in European markets. The funds are domiciled in Ireland.
SSgA is a pioneer in the world of ETFs, having created what is widely seen as the first ETF in 1993. Today, the firm manages more than $400 billion in ETFs assets worldwide, across almost 200 products.
