Source has announced the launch of 14 exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on the SIX Swiss Exchange. These debut ETF listings add to Source’s existing range of 16 exchange-traded commodities (ETCs) listed on the exchange.
Source’s product range on SIX now spans several asset classes and includes many of the London-based provider’s flagship products, including the $3 billion Source Physical Gold P-ETC (SGLD). [See Source’s physical gold ETC (SGLD) surpasses $3 billion in assets]
Ted Hood, CEO of Source, said: “Source is delighted to announce the listing of our first ETFs in Switzerland. These include major equity benchmarks such as the S&P 500, MSCI EM and MSCI USA, the nine S&P US Select Sectors and some of Source’s market leading volatility products, developed in conjunction with Nomura and JP Morgan.”
Source is the first ETF provider to list ETFs with US sector exposure on SIX. The nine S&P US Select Sector Source ETFs include: Consumer discretionary, Consumer staples, Energy, Financials, Healthcare, Industrials, Materials, Technology and Utilities.
Commenting on the launch, Alain Picard, Head of ETFs and other Financial Product Sales at SIX Swiss Exchange, said: “SIX Swiss Exchange is very pleased to welcome Source Markets plc in its ETF segment with the listing of 14 ETFs. We believe that the new range of products fits perfectly into the existing ETF offering for the Swiss market”.
Source was one of the first European ETC providers to list products on the SIX Swiss Exchange and this latest launch demonstrates the company’s commitment to this fast-growing market.
“SIX is one of Europe’s most important trading venues for ETPs and has seen rapid growth in both listings and trading volume,” added Mark Vallon, Source’s institutional sales director responsible for distribution to Switzerland and Liechtenstein. “We are especially pleased to be the first provider to list volatility and US sector products on SIX, thus giving Swiss investors access to a growing sector in the ETF market.”
Flow Traders, JP Morgan Securities, Nomura International and Virtu Financial will act as market makers for the new ETFs.
Source’s ETF launch comes less than a week after ETF Securities, another London-based provider, made its ETF debut on the exchange [See ETF Securities debuts in Swiss market with eight thematic equity ETFs]. Following these latest two launches, there are now 880 ETFs listed on the exchange.
