Global X PropTech ETF (PTEC US) – Portfolio Construction Methodology
The underlying Global X PropTech Index targets global “pure-play” property technology companies that derive at least 50% of revenue from technologies that enhance buying, selling, renting, designing, constructing, managing, or researching and marketing residential and commercial real estate. Eligible securities must have a primary listing in approved developed or emerging markets (excluding India, Kuwait, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and China A/B shares), free float of at least 10%, share-class market cap ≥200 million USD for new additions (≥160 million USD for existing members), six-month ADTV ≥2 million USD (≥1.4 million USD for existing), and trading on at least 90% of days in the prior six months. Hotel booking platforms, REITs, and commission-driven brokerages are excluded. Among eligible pure-plays, the top 50 by share-class market cap are selected. Constituents are weighted by the lesser of free-float market cap and six-month average DTV, subject to an 8% single-stock cap; the aggregate weight of constituents above 5% cannot exceed 40%, and remaining constituents are capped at 4.5%. The index rebalances semi-annually on the last business day of February and August.
