Matthews Asia Innovators Active ETF (MINV US) – Portfolio Construction Methodology

The investment strategy guiding the actively managed Matthews Asia Innovators Active ETF seeks long-term capital appreciation by owning Asian companies (primarily Asia ex Japan) that Matthews judges to be innovators in their products, services, processes or business models. Eligible issuers are “located” in Asia based on incorporation, revenues/assets, trading venue, index membership or currency of issue, and exposure may be taken via common or preferred stock and depositary receipts. Research emphasizes fundamental appraisal of balance sheets, cash-flow durability, management quality, governance and industry positioning, with a practical focus on science- and technology-related areas such as internet/software, semiconductors, communications equipment and medical technology. Portfolio construction is unconstrained by benchmark weights; the portfolio may be materially allocated to one or more sectors, invest across the market-cap spectrum, and hold frontier exposures when warranted. Active adjustments and security-level changes can result in elevated turnover.
