Toronto-headquartered Mackenzie Investments has launched the Mackenzie ETF Portfolios, a suite of five globally diversified multi-asset portfolios constructed using the firm’s own ETFs, which include actively managed, smart beta, and traditional index approaches.

Each portfolio is designed to suit a different category of investor based on degree of risk aversion, from those seeking conservative exposure to those willing to accept higher levels of volatility associated with more growth-oriented portfolios.
The Mackenzie Conservative Income ETF Portfolio provides a steady stream of income with an emphasis on capital preservation. Its asset mix will typically be 75% fixed income and 25% equity securities.
The Mackenzie Conservative ETF Portfolio provides a steady stream of income and potential long-term capital appreciation. Its asset mix will typically be 65% fixed income and 35% equity securities.
The Mackenzie Balanced ETF Portfolio provides a balance of income and long-term capital appreciation. Its asset mix will typically be 50% fixed income and 50% equity securities.
The Mackenzie Moderate Growth ETF Portfolio provides a balance between long-term capital appreciation and income, with an emphasis on long-term capital appreciation. Its asset mix will typically be 40% fixed income and 60% equity securities.
The Mackenzie Growth ETF Portfolio provides long-term capital appreciation and some income. Its asset mix will typically be 25% fixed-income and 75% equity securities.
Each portfolio is managed by Mackenzie’s asset allocation team and utilizes strategic and tactical asset allocation along with active currency management. Portfolio allocations may vary +/- 10%.
They are available to investors with a minimum CAD500 investment. Management fees on the Conservative Income Portfolio range from 0.525% to 1.30% depending on share class, while management fees on the other portfolios range from 0.575% to 1.60%.
