JP Morgan launches actively managed futures ETF on NYSE

The actively managed ETF provides exposure to carry and momentum factors across fixed income, currency, commodity, and equity markets.

The ETF’s management team employs a bottom-up strategy constructed by taking long and short positions in futures markets backed by a systematic, rules-based approach. JPMAM states the fund can serve as a portfolio diversifier with the potential to limit drawdowns and reduce overall volatility by providing returns that are uncorrelated to traditional asset classes.

Joanna Gallegos, US head of ETFs for JP Morgan Asset Management, commented: “Investors are increasingly looking to venture beyond traditional asset classes to diversify their portfolios and enhance risk-adjusted returns. We are thrilled to bring to market the benefits of a managed futures strategy in an ETF wrapper and believe it will help our clients solve for specific needs and build stronger portfolios.”

European investors can access the strategy using the JPMorgan Managed Futures UCITS ETF (JPMF LN), which launched on London Stock Exchange last month alongside the JPMorgan Equity Long-Short UCITS ETF (JELS LN).

The US-listed ETF has a total expense ratio (TER) of 0.59%, while the London-listed ETF comes in slightly cheaper with a TER of 0.57%
