iShares S&P Small-Cap 600 Growth ETF (IJT US) – Portfolio Construction Methodology

The underlying S&P SmallCap 600 Growth Index delivers the growth slice of the committee-maintained S&P SmallCap 600 universe. Base eligibility requires U.S. listing, public float typically ≥10%, adequate trading liquidity assessed via ADVT and ATVR metrics, and financial viability (positive as-reported GAAP earnings in the most recent quarter and cumulatively over the last four quarters). The SmallCap 600 spans U.S. small caps, with additions generally in the low-single-digit USD billions and migrations to/from the S&P MidCap 400/500 when sustained size or liquidity shifts occur. Style assignment scores each 600 constituent on growth using three factors—sales growth, earnings-change-to-price, and momentum—splitting each company’s float-adjusted market cap between Growth and Value; weights equal the growth-attributed float-cap. Style is rebalanced annually (December) with ongoing maintenance tied to S&P 600 changes.
