Hoya Capital Housing 100 ETF (HOMZ US) – Portfolio Construction Methodology
The underlying Hoya Capital Housing 100 Index targets US-listed equities whose primary businesses map to four US housing industry segments and together approximate total US housing-related spending. Construction starts from all US listings, then retains companies with significant revenue in Home Ownership & Rental Operations, Home Building & Construction, Home Improvement & Furnishings, or Home Financing, Technology & Services, subject to free-float and liquidity screens. At each semi-annual June and December review, 100 names are slotted into buckets with preset weights and counts: 30% to 20 residential REITs and housing operators; 30% to 10 homebuilders and 20 building-products firms; 20% to 2 home improvement retailers and 18 home-furnishings and goods companies; and 20% to 16 mortgage lenders/servicers, 8 insurers, and 6 real-estate technology or brokerage firms. Within each bucket, constituents are equally weighted at the prescribed per-stock weights, with drift corrected at reconstitution.
