Invesco Equal Weight 0-30 Year Treasury ETF (GOVI US) – Portfolio Construction Methodology
The underlying ICE 1-30 Year Laddered Maturity US Treasury Index provides an equal-weighted ladder of US Treasury securities spanning maturities from one to thirty years. Eligible bonds are US dollar denominated Treasury debt issued in the US domestic market with fixed coupon schedules, at least USD 1 billion outstanding after excluding Federal Reserve holdings, and at least 18 months to final maturity at issuance. The index defines thirty annual February “rungs” and, for each rung, first selects a bond maturing in February, or if none exists a bond maturing within six months of the target date, giving precedence to larger outstanding amounts and then to more recent issues. Rungs and their selected securities are equally weighted, any empty rung’s weight is redistributed equally to neighbouring rungs, and the index is rebalanced monthly to reinvest cash, repopulate vacant rungs and replace provisional selections with issued bonds that match the February ladder.
