The underlying WisdomTree U.S. Short-term Quality Corporate Bond Index targets USD-denominated, investment grade corporate bonds from US-domiciled issuers with short remaining maturities. Eligible bonds must pay fixed coupons, be classified as Industrial, Financial or Utility issuers, carry at least BBB-/Baa3 ratings based on the average of Moody’s and S&P, have ≥ USD 350 million in par outstanding, and retain 1–5 years to maturity. Issues are scored within sector on three fundamental factors—free cash flow over debt service, negative leverage ratio and ROIC—and the lowest 20% by composite score are removed. For remaining bonds, an income tilt uses option-adjusted spread, probability of default and duration to adjust each issue’s market value, with stronger income characteristics receiving larger multipliers and weaker ones driven toward zero weight. A 5% issuer cap limits concentration. The index rebalances quarterly at the end of February, May, August and November, with downgrades and called bonds removed monthly.

Investment Proposition

WisdomTree U.S. Short-Term Corporate Bond Fund (QSIG) offers diversified exposure to investment-grade U.S. corporate bonds concentrated at the front end of the curve to moderate interest-rate sensitivity while retaining corporate spread carry. The strategy focuses on liquid, high-quality issuers across sectors with a tenor profile designed to reduce price volatility from rate shifts, with returns primarily driven by coupon income, spread behavior, and roll-down. Its philosophy favors broad allocation and prudent credit screening over yield-seeking concentration, and typical turnover reflects maintaining the short-maturity profile as bonds season. The fund tends to hold up better than intermediate credit in periods of rate uncertainty while still being exposed to cyclical spread widening. Likely portfolio roles include cash-plus income, a short-duration core credit sleeve, and a transition or sweep vehicle for redeployable dry powder. It is generally suited to liability-aware investors targeting modest income with controlled duration and diversified allocators seeking to dial credit exposure without significant rate risk. Key risk: credit events or broad spread widening can offset the benefits of low duration and reduce the effectiveness of the cash-plus profile.
