The underlying WisdomTree U.S. Quality Corporate Bond Index targets investment grade U.S. corporate issuers using fundamentals and income tilts. The universe comprises USD-denominated, fixed-rate corporate bonds in the industrial, financial and utility sectors, each with at least one year to maturity, minimum 350m USD par outstanding and an average rating of BBB-/Baa3 or higher. Within each sector, bonds are ranked on free cash flow over debt service, lower leverage and higher ROIC; the lowest-scoring 20% and bonds lacking data are removed. Remaining bonds receive an income tilt that increases weight for higher option-adjusted spread after adjusting for estimated probability of default and effective duration; each issue’s amount outstanding is scaled between zero and twice its base value. Weights are proportional to these adjusted amounts outstanding, subject to a 5% issuer cap, with quarterly rebalances in February, May, August and November and monthly removals for downgrades or rating-band breaches.

Investment Proposition

WisdomTree U.S. Corporate Bond Fund (QIG) delivers rules-based exposure to U.S. investment-grade corporate bonds with a focus on issuer quality and bond-level risk characteristics rather than simple debt outstanding. The methodology emphasizes stronger balance sheets and prudent leverage metrics while controlling key rate and sector risks, seeking a more resilient credit profile through the cycle. Duration and yield curve posture remain anchored to broad corporate benchmarks, while selection tilts can shape spread sensitivity and downgrade risk. The strategy’s return drivers include carry, credit spreads, and rates; it may provide ballast versus equities in typical risk-off episodes, though spread widening and rate volatility can challenge near-term results. Portfolio roles include a core corporate bond sleeve, a diversification anchor within multi-asset income, and a building block for liability-aware allocations. Suitable users include institutional investors seeking quality-tilted credit beta and advisors constructing disciplined, benchmark-aware fixed income cores. It may be timely when credit fundamentals are stable and compensation for quality is attractive; it can lag in lower-quality risk-on phases. A fund-specific risk to monitor is concentration in certain issuers or sectors as screening tilts evolve.
