The underlying Dynamic Semiconductor Intellidex Index delivers a 30-stock U.S. semiconductor portfolio selected from the 2,000 largest U.S. common stocks across NYSE/NASDAQ. A sector-specific quantitative model scores each eligible semiconductor on five “superfactors”: price momentum, earnings momentum, quality, management action, and value. The industry variant uses a tiered, size-aware weighting: when the industry universe has <50 names, 30 constituents are chosen; the 8 largest by market cap collectively receive 40% (≈5% each) and the remaining 22 receive 60% (≈2.73% each). No intra-quarter replacements occur; announced M&A targets are ineligible at reconstitution. The index reconstitutes and rebalances quarterly (February, May, August, November) using reference data from the week before month-end, and applies standard corporate-action treatment for modified equal-weighted indices.

Investment Proposition

Invesco Semiconductors ETF (PSI) presents a rules-driven approach to the semiconductor and equipment ecosystem, emphasizing quantitative indicators such as price momentum, earnings quality, and management-related signals to tilt toward firms with improving fundamentals rather than purely tracking industry size. The resulting portfolio typically differs from capitalization-weighted peers in constituent mix and weights, with periodic rebalancing that can increase turnover and express factor tilts within a highly cyclical industry. Return potential is tied to secular demand for compute, connectivity, and automation, while risks include sharp inventory cycles, capital intensity, and sensitivity to policy or supply-chain disruptions. The strategy can benefit in phases when breadth widens across the value chain or when earnings revisions turn positive, and may be challenged in late-cycle slowdowns or narrow mega-cap leadership. Portfolio roles include a satellite growth engine for thematic mandates, a tactical overlay to express semiconductor views, or a factor-aware industry allocation inside a sector sleeve. Likely users are allocators seeking targeted tech cyclicality and advisors constructing innovation-tilt portfolios. A fund-specific risk to monitor is higher turnover from frequent re-evaluations, which can increase trading costs in volatile markets.
