The investable universe is drawn from the 2,000 largest US-listed common stocks; securities are scored each quarter on five “superfactors”: Price Momentum, Earnings Momentum, Quality, Management Action, and Value, using sector-customized factor sets. At reconstitution, the 30 highest scorers in the industry group are selected. Tiered weighting mitigates mega-cap concentration: the 8 largest by market cap share 40% of index weight (~5% each) and the remaining 22 share 60% (~2.73% each). There are no intra-quarter replacements; constituents are removed only at scheduled reviews. Reconstitution and reweighting occur quarterly, effective the third index business day after the last Friday of February, May, August, and November.

Investment Proposition

Invesco Leisure and Entertainment ETF (PEJ) delivers focused exposure to U.S. companies tied to travel, hospitality, restaurants, theme parks, media, and related entertainment activities, offering access to a consumer-cyclical opportunity set driven by discretionary spending and experiential demand. The strategy tracks a rules-based basket with periodic rebalancing and a limited number of holdings, which increases industry purity while heightening idiosyncratic and event risks. Returns are linked to household income trends, employment, real wage growth, and sentiment, with sensitivity to fuel costs and travel capacity. The portfolio often skews toward brands and operators with operating leverage, which can expand margins in upswings and compress them in slowdowns. In asset allocation, PEJ can serve as a thematic satellite for cyclical beta, a tactical overlay to express a reopening/consumer-confidence view, or a concentration hedge against portfolios dominated by defensives. Likely users include macro-aware allocators timing consumer cycles and equity managers seeking a targeted discretionary sleeve. It tends to benefit from improving labor markets and falling travel frictions, while high rates or broad demand shocks can challenge it. Key fund-specific risk: concentrated industry exposure magnifies regulatory changes, headline events, and seasonality.
