Eligible securities are split into large cap (≥ USD 2bn) and small cap (< USD 2bn), then ranked within each GICS sector. Large caps are scored on: current EPS ÷ 10-year average EPS, current P/E, and 2-year forward EPS growth; small caps use P/S. From each sector and size segment, the top 20% advance. Sector weights equal the sum of the market caps of constituents selected in that sector; within sectors, constituents are equally weighted. The index reconstitutes and rebalances semi-annually (March and September), concentrating to the same extent as selection implies; no explicit single-name cap is applied beyond equal-weighting within sectors.

Investment Proposition

Optimize Strategy Index ETF (OPTZ) provides diversified access to U.S. equities through a systematic approach that emphasizes durable profitability and balance-sheet strength across market cycles. The rules-based process targets companies with consistent cash generation and resilient business models, seeking broad exposure while tilting toward quality and financial discipline. Portfolio construction aims to reduce uncompensated risks by screening out persistently unprofitable and heavily levered firms. The strategy pursues long-term capital appreciation with lower exposure to speculative extremes, accepting periods of relative lag when high-beta or unprofitable segments lead. Expected traits include a quality tilt, moderate turnover from rebalances, and sensitivity to growth-versus-value leadership and credit conditions. In portfolios, it can serve as a core U.S. equity anchor, a quality-tilt complement to broad beta, or a “sleep-well” sleeve for investors prioritizing durable cash flows. Suitable users include long-horizon allocators seeking disciplined equity participation and advisors implementing risk-aware core equity models. Regimes with tighter financial conditions or wider profit dispersion may favor the approach; liquidity-driven rallies in unprofitable growth can challenge it. A key risk is methodology rigidity that may under-respond to rapid shifts in business models or sector dynamics.
