Investment Proposition

VanEck Morningstar International Moat ETF (MOTI) presents developed and emerging ex-U.S. equity exposure to companies judged to possess sustainable competitive advantages and attractive valuations. The methodology targets durable business models outside the U.S., pairing quality characteristics with a valuation screen to emphasize margin resilience and capital discipline. Country and sector weights can differ meaningfully from broad benchmarks, reflecting bottom-up opportunity rather than top-down quotas, and currency exposures introduce an additional return driver. Regime-wise, fundamentals-led markets, improving global earnings breadth, and periods of value normalization can be supportive; strong U.S. dollar phases, liquidity-driven momentum, or narrow leadership may be headwinds. Currency can diversify or amplify local-market moves, and the selection process may tilt toward capital-efficient franchises with defensible moats. Use cases include an international core-plus sleeve, a quality-value tilt for ex-U.S. equities, and a strategic diversifier to U.S. concentration. Suitable investors include globally diversified allocators seeking disciplined stock selection abroad and advisors aiming to balance style exposures across regions. Key risk to monitor: currency and regional concentration effects can heighten tracking variability versus broad international indices.
