The underlying MSCI China A 50 Connect Index (USD) provides large-cap A-share exposure via Stock Connect, constructed from the MSCI China A Index. Selection proceeds in two steps: first, include the two largest free-float-adjusted market-cap names from each GICS sector represented in the MSCI China A Large Cap Index; second, add the largest remaining Large Cap names until reaching 50 constituents. Weights start at free-float-adjusted market cap and are then re-normalized within sectors so each sector’s weight matches that of the parent. Quarterly Index Reviews occur at the close of the last business day of February, May, August, and November, with buffer rules for stability: after sector picks, 15-security buffers are applied across ranks 13–43 in the Large Cap universe to minimize turnover. Corporate actions follow parent index treatment; additions between reviews are generally not made.

Investment Proposition

KraneShares Bosera MSCI China A 50 Connect Index ETF (KBA) delivers targeted exposure to a concentrated basket of large-capitalization onshore China A-shares available via Stock Connect. The strategy tracks a transparent rules-based approach that emphasizes market leadership and liquidity, resulting in a portfolio tilted to established franchises across domestically focused sectors. This concentration can provide direct participation in policy-sensitive areas of the economy while reducing exposure to smaller, less liquid companies; however, factor tilts may diverge from broad China benchmarks, with a bias toward size, profitability, and balance-sheet stability over smaller growth names. For portfolio construction, KBA can serve as a core China A allocation, a satellite to refine an emerging-markets sleeve toward onshore leadership, or a tactical overlay when domestic stimulus and onshore sentiment are supportive. Performance generally benefits when local liquidity improves, earnings visibility strengthens, and regulatory signals are constructive, and is challenged by policy tightening or weaker domestic demand. A key risk to monitor is top-holdings concentration, as leadership-heavy exposure can increase sensitivity to sector- or policy-specific shocks.
