The underlying BlueStar Israel Global Technology Index offers float-adjusted market cap exposure to Israeli technology operating companies across information technology, biotechnology, defense-technology, clean energy, water technology and related tech-intensive industries. Companies qualify as “Israel-linked” if they meet at least one Set A criterion (incorporated or headquartered in Israel or with ≥50% of revenue, operating assets or employees in Israel) or at least two Set B criteria (Israeli listing, Israeli-domiciled key executives or board majority, Israeli R&D center, or founded in Israel). Constituents must be operating companies (not CEFs, REITs or LP units) and must satisfy MarketVector investable-universe rules: for new entrants free float ≥10%, full market cap >150m USD and three-month ADTV above a dynamically determined threshold based on a 1,000,000 USD target, with relaxed 5% and 75m USD tests for current members. At each June and December review, eligible Israeli tech stocks covering the top 99% of investable free-float market cap are included, with existing constituents buffered down to the 99.5th percentile. Constituents are weighted by float-adjusted market cap subject to a 7.5% single-stock cap and an additional 100m USD notional traded-value overlay, and the index observes the 5/50 diversification rule; share and float updates occur quarterly.

Investment Proposition

Amplify BlueStar Israel Technology ETF (ITEQ) presents exposure to Israel’s technology ecosystem, spanning cybersecurity, semiconductors, communications equipment, and software and services across domestic listings and U.S.-traded shares. The rules-based approach emphasizes companies tied to innovation, export markets, and intellectual-property-driven growth, producing a portfolio that typically leans toward mid- and large-cap growth characteristics with meaningful idiosyncratic risk. Performance can be supported by product-cycle strength, global IT spending, and secular demand for security and data-centric solutions, while stronger discount rates, currency fluctuations, or risk-off markets can challenge outcomes. Portfolio roles include a satellite country-technology sleeve for diversification away from U.S. mega-cap tech, a targeted growth tilt within global equities, or a tactical vehicle aligned with innovation cycles. Suitable investors include international equity allocators seeking differentiated exposure to an innovation hub and thematic investors aiming to balance broader technology holdings with a distinct regional profile. A fund-specific risk to monitor is geopolitical and country concentration, where regional events and currency moves can introduce volatility beyond typical sector dynamics.
