Investment Proposition

Goldman Sachs Access U.S. Preferred Stock and Hybrid Securities ETF (GPRF) targets the income-oriented opportunity set of preferreds and hybrid capital, offering exposure to instruments that sit between senior bonds and common equity in the capital structure. The strategy seeks diversified issuance with an emphasis on seasoned, investment-grade sponsors, recognizing that many securities feature call provisions, fixed-to-floating coupons, or other structural terms that shape total return. Risk and return characteristics blend equity-like sensitivity to issuer profitability with bond-like responses to rate and credit conditions; sector representation often skews toward financials, with ancillary exposure to utilities, pipelines, and diversified corporates. In portfolios, GPRF can function as an income sleeve for multi-asset mandates, a factor completion tool to bridge equity and credit, or a satellite allocation for investors comfortable with subordination and call dynamics. Yield-focused investors and outcome-oriented allocators may use it to diversify cash-flow sources while accepting episodic volatility. It tends to fare best in stable growth and range-bound rate environments, and can be pressured during financial sector stress or abrupt rate repricings. A key risk to monitor is call and extension uncertainty, which can tilt realized duration and income versus expectations.
