Investment Proposition

Invesco BulletShares 2029 High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (BSJT) delivers finite-term exposure to below-investment-grade U.S. corporate bonds slated to mature in 2029, emphasizing carry from credit risk within a defined end date. The portfolio pursues income by holding diversified speculative-grade issues while allowing duration to decline as bonds approach maturity, keeping interest-rate sensitivity secondary to credit dynamics. The strategy’s opportunity is largest when defaults are contained and spreads compress on improving risk appetite; it may be pressured by deteriorating corporate fundamentals, refinancing stress, or risk-off regimes. Likely portfolio uses include a satellite credit sleeve to enhance income, a ladder rung for investors comfortable with high yield at a specific horizon, or a tactical overlay when compensation for credit risk appears compelling. Typical users include outcome-oriented advisors employing time-segmented income ladders and flexible multi-asset allocators seeking targeted credit beta over a known term. Because the universe contains callable bonds and issuers with evolving balance-sheet quality, a key risk to monitor is downgrade and default clustering near maturity, which can increase dispersion and potential cash-drag from early redemptions.
