The underlying Adaptive Wealth Strategies U.S. Factor Index delivers a dynamic allocation among three Solactive factor sub-indices—U.S. Large & Mid Cap Value 100 TR, Momentum 100 TR, and Minimum Downside Volatility 100 TR—each holding 100 equal-weighted US large-/mid-cap stocks drawn from the free-float market-cap-weighted Solactive US Large & Mid Cap Index. On each review, 2-year annualized returns of the three sub-indices determine mix: if the top sub-index beats the second by >2%, the index holds the second- and third-best 50/50; otherwise it holds all three at 40/40/20 (best/second/third). Rebalances occur quarterly on the first Wednesday of February, May, August, and November. The parent Solactive universe is reconstituted semi-annually with quarterly IPO reviews, providing investability/liquidity screens; the factor sub-indices use rules-based factor scores and equal weighting to control single-name concentration.

Investment Proposition

Global X Adaptive U.S. Factor ETF (AUSF) delivers a dynamic multi-factor equity approach that rotates among well-established style premia—such as value, momentum, and lower-volatility—to pursue enhanced risk-adjusted returns relative to static, cap-weighted U.S. equity exposure. The rules-based methodology seeks to adapt to changing market leadership by tilting the portfolio toward factors exhibiting favorable characteristics, with guardrails intended to manage unintended concentrations and maintain broad market representation. This design acknowledges that factor returns are cyclical and that diversification across styles can smooth outcomes across expansions, slowdowns, and periods of heightened volatility. In practice, AUSF can function as a core equity alternative with embedded factor diversification or as a satellite sleeve for factor completion within an otherwise cap-weighted allocation. It tends to be favored when dispersion among styles is elevated or market trends are persistent, and may be challenged during abrupt regime shifts or highly choppy, mean-reverting environments that reduce factor persistence. Key risk to monitor: model and turnover complexity, which can introduce trading costs and occasional style drift versus investor expectations.
