BNP Paribas has launched the BNP Paribas EUR Hedged RICI Enhanced Brent Crude Oil Total Return Index ETC (Xetra: BNQX), an exchange-traded commodity which allows investors to participate in the performance of Brent Crude oil prices while hedging returns relative to the euro.

Direxion has launched the Direxion Auspice Broad Commodity Strategy ETF (NYSE: COM) which seeks to provide total return that exceeds that of the Auspice Broad Commodity Index over a complete market cycle. The index utilizes a rules-based process to capture trends in 12 diversified commodity markets using a quantitative methodology. Positions in each of the 12 commodities can be either long or flat, based on risk reduction where the allocation of individual components is reduced if volatility exceeds certain predetermined risk levels.

The ProShares UltraPro 3x Crude Oil ETF (NYSE: OILU) and ProShares UltraPro 3x Short Crude Oil ETF (NYSE: OILD) track the daily performance of the Bloomberg WTI Crude Oil Subindex, providing 3x and -3x exposure respectively.

Europe-listed ETFs have seen a strong start to 2017, recording €9.4 billion in net new assets during February, nearly twice the one-year average of €4.9bn, according to research from Lyxor. Marlène Hassine Konqui, Head of ETF research at Lyxor said: “Both developed and emerging markets equity and fixed income ETFs saw positive flows in a risk-on environment supported by an upbeat picture of macroeconomic data across markets.”
