Calvert International Responsible Index ETF (CVIE US) – Portfolio Construction Methodology
The underlying Calvert International Responsible Index delivers developed-markets ex-U.S. large-cap exposure screened under the Calvert Principles. The starting universe is the 1,000 largest non-U.S. developed-market common stocks (including REITs), each with free float ≥15%, free-float market cap ≥ USD 2 billion, and both 5- and 20-day ADV/median DTV ≥ USD 750,000; BDCs and recent IPOs (<6 months) are excluded. Companies must pass Calvert’s research review for consistency with environmental, social, and governance standards; a committee can remove names that present significant product or environmental health risks. Constituents are first weighted by float-adjusted market cap, then country and sector weights are realigned toward the starting universe using a per-security limit equal to the lesser of 15 bps over, or 3×, the security’s universe weight. The index rebalances quarterly (third Friday of quarter-end months) and fully reconstitutes annually in June.
