BNY Mellon launches active global ex-US growth ETF

The fund is BNY Mellon’s second actively managed ETF.

The BNY Mellon Concentrated International ETF (BKCI US) has been listed on NYSE Arca with an expense ratio of 0.80%.

The fund is sub-advised by Walter Scott & Partners, a BNY Mellon investment subsidiary and global equities specialist.

Walter Scott utilizes a disciplined, bottom-up approach to security selection. The strategy, which aims to construct a portfolio of just 25 to 30 stocks, emphasizes companies with robust balance sheets, strong free cash flows, industry-leading positions, sustainable margins, experienced management teams, and sound operating practices.

The ETF delivers a traditional, long-only “buy and hold” approach and, therefore, exhibits low annual portfolio turnover and longevity of investment horizon.

Roy Leckie, Director at Walter Scott & Partners, said: “The current environment demands a critically discerning stock-picking approach to effectively identify quality growth companies. Complex market dynamics have been challenged by policies stemming from the global pandemic which, in some cases, have obscured underlying fragilities across the global corporate sector.”

Andy Provencher, Head of North America Distribution at BNY Mellon Investment Management, added: “The launch of the BNY Mellon Concentrated International ETF is another exciting addition to our ETF product line-up and an example of how we are harnessing the specialist capabilities of our investment firms to offer innovative solutions to our clients. By delivering this strategy in an actively managed ETF, we’re able to offer a tax-efficient path for investors seeking exposure to international equity markets.”
