Horizons ETFs has launched the Horizons Inovestor Canadian Equity Index ETF (INOC CN) on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). The ETF, linked to the Nasdaq Inovestor Canada Index, gives access to Canadian equities that offer high exposure to the value and quality factors.

JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) has listed two ETFs on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) – the JPM Equity Long-Short UCITS ETF (JELS LN) and the JPM Managed Futures UCITS ETF (JPMF LN) – marking the firm’s entrance into the European ETF provider space. The actively managed funds provide exposure to traditional hedge fund strategies.

Martin Small, head of US iShares at BlackRock, commented: “We believe all investors should evaluate DIVB as a complement, or wholesale replacement, for the traditional high dividend or dividend growth allocation.”

Global gold demand was 915 tonnes during Q3 2017, a fall of 9% compared to the same quarter last year, due in part to gold ETF inflows being substantially lower than in 2016. These were the findings of the World Gold Council’s (WGC) Gold Demand Trends for Q3 2017.

S&P Dow Jones Indices announces S&P GSCI composition for 2018

S&P Dow Jones Indices has announced the composition and weights of the S&P GSCI Index for 2018. The S&P GSCI is a world production-weighted commodity index tracked by two US-listed ETFs. In 2018, the index will be composed of 24 exchange-traded futures contracts on physical commodities across five sectors – energy, industrial metals, precious metals, agricultural and livestock.


Virtus launches emerging markets multi-factor ETF

Virtus ETF solutions has launched the Virtus Glovista Emerging Markets ETF (EMEM US) on the NYSE Arca. The fund uses a quantitative multi-factor strategy to provide exposure to ‘favoured’ emerging markets. William Smalley, executive managing director of Virtus, commented: “This new ETF offers investors exposure to the surge in global economic growth, leveraging the specialized knowledge and quantitative skills of Glovista Investments in a passive, tax-efficient vehicle.”
